File this under E for exciting-as-hell. Yesterday, FOX announced not only the line-up for this year’s Treehouse of Horror XXIV – which includes homages to Dr. Suess, The Thing with Two Heads and Freaks – but also revealed that director Guillermo del Toro will be the mastermind behind the opening couch gag which is set to feature “monsters and classic characters from horror films throughout history… including Guillermo del Toro’s own Hellboy and Pan’s Labyrinth” Score!
As for the episode segments, “Oh The Places You’ll D’oh” will find Homer “riding around Springfield wreaking Havoc as the The Fat in The Hat” (whatever that means) as a twisted take on Dr. Suess while “Dead and Shoulders” spoofs The Thing with Two Heads as Bart is beheaded only to have his noggin re-attached to Lisa’s body. Finally, in “Freaks no Geeks,” Marge and Homer are performers in The Burnsum and Bailey Circus but “things go awry when circus freak Moe starts to make advances towards Marge.”
